Developing Art is a Cultural NGO dedicated to facilitating artistic processes to the public and to improving the relation between artists and public. DA is based in Bucharest and since 2017 has developed and coordinated a number of interdisciplinary cultural projects that have as priorities Contemporary Dance, Mixed Media, Education and Research and Visual Arts. DA’s co-founders and members are active in the Contemporary Arts scene, working both nationally and internationally. DA’s expertise with creating and successfully implementing publicly funded projects, as well as its members experience have led to a natural interest in growing communities and networks around their main artistic priorities.

ALINA USURELU
Alina has been collaborating with members of the Romanian contemporary dance community for 6 years.
In addition to dance photography and performance, video creations for the promotion and documentation of contemporary artistic projects, Alina wants to develop dance film production in Romania and launches innovative multimedia proposals to choreographers and dancers.
In the fall of 2016, she released her first experimental dance film, Up Stairs, and began facilitating photography workshops. In 2017 she stars the Exposing Movement project with 3 other visual artists and 3 choreographers. In 2019 she is selected in the PACAP program (advanced program for creation and performing arts) at Forum Danca - Lisbon and she begins to create and perform in dance performances and installations with international artists.
ANDREA NOVAC

Andreea Novac is a choreographer and performer based in Bucharest, Romania. Born in 1981, she graduated Psychology (BA) and Choreography (BA, MA) and now she is a PhD student with a thesis on Body as language. Her obsessions on dance change every few years, she is passionate about dance education, performance making, dance and performance theory and lately she is a shy performance advisor and reviewer. She started to create her own work in 2008, some of her performances - Dance A Playful Body, Pretend We Make You Happy, On Tenderness, 37 minutes of make believe, A truth a lie and a list of possibilities - were presented all over Romania and in international contexts. She received the best choreography award for the performance On love and other mischiefing things offered by the National University of Theatre and Film Bucharest. She participates regularly in dance, research, composition and improvisation workshops in Europe. Artistic residencies in Great Britain, Estonia, Netherlands, Italy, Hungary, Luxembourg, France, Ireland and Romania. She received a series of scholarships to participate in the movement research workshops in Italy and Germany. She teaches regularly classes for professional and amateur dancers and actors and works in theater and film.
IRINA MARINESCU

Irina Marinescu fell in love with contemporary dance in 2009. Since then, she has participated in contemporary dance workshops, Feldenkrais, Viewpoints, Axis Syllabus, Das Theater Feedback Method, Contact improvisation, Gaga, dance and film production workshops with Romanian and foreign professionals.
She has worked for The National Dance Center Bucharest and participated at the Cultural Management Academy 2019, cofounder of the cultural NGO Developing Art and currently she is an independent artist and cultural manager. She wants to offer new perspectives of the world and its stories through various media and languages – be it dance, new media, stand up comedy. Her interests also lie at the intersection between art and therapy, art and science and art and anthropology. She collaborates with artists from various backgrounds to create creative and development contexts where authentic connections, experiment and emotions are the main ingredients.
LAURA TROCAN
producer
Laura is a producer of contemporary dance and theater performances and has about 10 years of experience in organizing events in the cultural-educational field. She has a degree in sociology and a master's degree in performing arts, obtained at the Center of Excellence in Image Study.
For two years he was an artistic consultant at the National Dance Center in Bucharest, being
involved both in the production of the institution's shows and in the organization of the Like festival CNDB and some international events.
Starting with 2018, she coordinates independent cultural projects and collaborates with various organizations and artistic groups with which she produces shows and organizes events.
She has been with Developing Art since the beginning of the association, being the producer
of the show Don't take it personally (choreography by Irina Marinescu, 2019) and of the tour Too good not to show it (2020).
ANDREI CINCAN
designer, scenographer, architect
Andrei studied architecture at the “Ion Mincu” University of Bucharest and was part of the team of architects from Rubrick Studio.
Being passionate about the art world, especially the visual arts, he explored graphic design through branding and visual identity projects. During college, he first met the art of scenography. He created sets and installations for events at "Ion Mincu" University. These experiences helped him to discover and develop his ability to minimize things and express them in a creative way.
He currently works as an independent artist in the field of performing arts and creates installations and sets in projects such as Don’t Bite Your Tongue.
